Yes the sling is perfectly safe and has been the most favoured way to carry babies around the world for centuries. Check the buckle is clicked together and is secure before wearing and ensure your baby is secure in the sling before you remove your hands.
Will the sling hurt my back, neck or shoulder?
No, when the sling is worn correctly the weight of your baby is distributed across your back. Make sure your baby is being carried high as you would hold them in your arms. You may need to shorten the length of the sling if you feel it is too low. (see making sling smaller) we also recommend alternating the shoulder pad from shoulder to shoulder. The shoulder pad has been designed to be soft and comfortable and should sit on your shoulder not neck.
Can I breastfeed in the sling?
Yes, babyRock slings allows discreet and comfortable breastfeeding, and is a convenient particularly in situations such as waiting in a queue.
Can I change the position or the way I carry my baby?
Yes, the babyRock offers both flexibility and comfort for baby and parent on an individual level. We have found that everyone carries their baby differently in the sling. We recommend using a mirror to experiment with different positions.
My baby is scrunched up in the sling is this OK?
Newborns in particular enjoy the cocooning feeling of the sling. Babies naturally adopt a fetal position, this is why they feel safe and secure as this is the most natural position for a newborn. The mesh and cool cotton allows for plenty of airflow.
Can I wash my comfy carry in the washing machine?
Yes, we recommend using a laundry bag or pillow slip to protect the buckle. Do not use clothes dryer.
How long can I use my babyRock sling for?
Your sling can be used for as long as your baby needs to be held or carried, and you are comfortable doing so. In most cases this is at least 2 years.
What is the maximum weight my babyRock sling can hold?
We recommend 15kg is the maximum weight and we have independent testing through choice magazine.
Can my partner use the sling?
Yes the comfy carry is fully adjustable and can be warm easily by most people of all shapes and sizes. Pregnant women may find sling wearing difficult, particularly in the last trimester of pregnancy.
Can I be hands free when my baby is in the sling?
Yes, ensure that your baby is secure and all adjustments are made to ensure your baby is well supported before you remove your hands.
What is the best way to use the sling?
The best way is the way that you and your baby are comfortable. The sling is very versatile, and can be worn to many positions for you and your baby.
